‘I did not want my curves to tempt men, so I stopped eating’ – Jessica Alba

Hollywood actress Jessica Alba, 38, has opened up on how she curbed her eating habit as she feared she would end up with curves that will “tempt” men.

Alba, who was raised as a Catholic in a conservative home, also revealed her parents warned her against wearing Pepe Jeans as she was “voluptuous” and had a “booty”.

The actress also revealed she was blamed by her youth pastor every time any man showed an interest in her. He would state that the way she dressed, even though she dressed decently, was the reason for this.

Alba made all of this known while appearing on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop health summit as a fellow lifestyle guru.

“I was meant to feel ashamed if I tempted men. Then I stopped eating a lot when I became an actress. I made myself look more like a boy so I wouldn’t get as much attention.

“Nothing about being successful in this business is easy. You can’t be bitter.”

Alba also said she left the Catholic church due to their beliefs conflicting with hers on a number of issues, to include ‘gay rights, premarital sex, and for making her feel it was her fault that men desired her and a thing she should be ashamed of.

Alba is, however, still a big believer in God.
