Is Mavin’s recording artist, Rema The Future Of Nigeria Music?

Mavin’s recording artist Divine Ikubor Popularly known as Rema has been the newest sensation in the Nigerian music industry, has he just dropped his visuals to one of his hit singles Dumebi, the Afro-pop singer is already making waves as he is largely compared to Wizkid.

The 18 years old musician hails from Benin city where he started his music career as a pop artist, he said his major influences were Young Thug and Rae sremmurd, he also said his kind of sound is new as it’s not the typical Afrobeat sounds like Wizkid, Davido and Kizz Daniel songs. however, he said his sound has been his uniqueness and what got D’prince attracted to him.

The Youngster got popular on social media with his intoxicating freestyles and fashion, as a lot of young Nigerians got attracted to his style, the fast-rising star also got the attention of D’prince who said he saw ‘star value in the youngster‘ and invited him to Lagos where he got signed by Don Jazzy’s Mavins and D’Prince Jonzing world.

Rema has also been largely criticized for sounding like a secondary school boy and was mocked by Zlatan Ibile on his Instagram page portraying how he freestyles on his Instagram story. This, however, does not stop the young star as he said ‘he is just trying to create his on sound’ on his Instagram page.

The singer just dropped his visuals for his hit single Dumebi and it’s said to be currently topping charts across the country.
