Nigerian born- Austria International, David Alaba, has revealed that he opted against playing for Nigeria because he was asked to pay a bribe so as to get a starting shirt during the 2007 FIFA U17 World Cup.

The Bayern Munich left-back further shared that the late Yemi Tella was the Golden Eaglets coach as at that time. He further revealed that he would have paid the bribe for his mother who insisted he was not going to do so.

The pacy defender who added that he was in camp with the likes of Lukman Haruna, Macauley Chrisantus and Rabiu Ibrahim during preparation for the tournament describe Nigeria U-17 coaches as jokers.
