Threatening to arrest 90-year-old opposition member is “nonsensical” – Fani Kayode comes for Buhari

A former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the alleged arrest of Ayo Adebanjo, leader of Afenifere, a Yoruba socio-cultural group.

Adebanjo in an interview recently said he would not recognise President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the February 2019 Presidential Election until the Supreme court says so.

In his reaction, the former minister described the threat as ‘childish and nonsensical’ saying he believes the Afenifere leader will not “lose sleep” over the threat.

In a tweet on Wednesday evening, Fani Kayode wrote: The threat to arrest 90-year-old Baba Ayo Adebanjo simply because he said that he refuses to recognise @MBuhari’s mandate unless he wins at the Supreme Court is nonsensical and childish. I dare them to go ahead. I doubt that Baba will lose any sleep over such an absurd threat.
