An All Progressive Congress(APC) party chieftain in Rivers, Hon. Omunakwe met his untimely death after being killed by hired assassins in the early hours of today after returning from the exco meeting.
Hon. Omunakwe was a former candidate for the state house of Assembly seat for Obio/Akpor constituency in the just-concluded poll.
The police are yet to make an arrest following the unfortunate event. However, they shared that they have a lead and are working tirelessly towards ensuring that the culprits are brought to book.
We commiserate with the family of the slain politician and pray that God comforts and sooth them.
