Why some people in APC have turned against Tinubu

A national leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC) has been praised by Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation for “having the courage to aspire to be president in 2023”.

The former Minister also a Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) chieftain said he might not be a member of the APC but Tinubu’s 2023 presidential ambition is worth commending.

According to Fani-Kayode, many Southerners have shied away from even aspiring for the highest office in the country, thereby giving credence to the myth that Nigeria belongs to the North.

Speaking via his Twitter hand on Friday, Fani-Kayode wrote: I am not in Bola Tinubu’s party but I commend him for having the courage to aspire to be Pres. in 2023. How many southern politicians from either @OfficialAPCNg or @OfficialPDPNig have had the guts to do that? If nothing else he has challenged the myth that the north owns Nigeria.

The former minister said Tinubu also “challenged the view that the north owns the APC.”

He stated further that Tinubu’s presidential ambition is the reason many people in the APC have risen against him — By attempting to “rubbish and undermine his(Tinubu) effort”.

And that is precisely why some northern hegemonists and irredentists within his own party are now attempting to rubbish him and undermine his efforts, he stressed.

Let us wait and see how successful he will be in his quest, he added.
