After the explosive interview granted by Busola Dakolo, the wife of Nigerian soul singer, Timi Dakolo alleging that she was raped by the senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly(COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo when she was only a teenager –Many Nigerians were calling for the pastor to step down for now, until the allegations before him are cleared.
Protesters in the name of #Churchtoo Movement had also vowed to take their campaign to all branches of the church on Sunday, in a peaceful march.
However early on Sunday, there were reports of heavy security at different locations of COZA across the country — With some protesters being harassed by security operatives.
It appears their demand, including those of many Nigerians that the pastor steps down from the pulpit, was received as the COZA pastor mounted the pulpit on Sunday, to the excitement and thrill of his loyal members — but didn’t preach. He only spoke briefly to give an announcement.
