The Super Eagles of Nigeria have set a new record at the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Nigeria defeated Tunisia in the third-place match courtesy of Odion Ighalo’s third-minute goal to win the match and set a new record.

By winning this match, Nigeria became the highest third-placed team in the history of the tournament, winning the bronze medal for a record eight times.

Nigeria has played 15 semifinals at a cup of nations and lost right times. Nigeria has never lost a third-place match.
