Usman was promoted to the rank of Corporal from Aircraftman, a promotion that would have taken him 10 years to achieve.

At an event organised to honour Usman at the Air Force Headquarters in Abuja, Chief of Air Staff, Sadique Abubakar, described him as a rare gem who the security operative holds in high esteem.

His words:

“We hold Umar in high esteem in the Nigerian Air Force,” the Air Chief said.
