Egypt 2019: Super Eagles Advance To Quarterfinal

A former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has hailed the Super Eagles for defeating the indomitable lions of Cameroon to advance to the quarter finals stage of the Total African Cup of Nations holding in Egypt.

It was a pulsating encounter that started with the Eagles taking the lead in the nineteenth minute before the Cameroonians restored parity and went on to take the lead before the half time break.

In his reaction, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) said he was proud of the Eagles, who came back in the second half firing on all cylinders — Putting two unreplied goals past the stubborn Cameroonian defence.

He tweeted: A delightful evening of quality and resilient football. Congratulations @NGSuperEagles on your quarterfinal qualification. We are proud of you. #TotalAFCON2019 #NGACMR
