A Twitter user identified as Chekwa Chinwe shared the tragic incident on the platform.

Chekwa wrote:

“So a woman at Elf bus stop, Lekki was backing her child and on trying to cross the busy express, the child fell off her back and got crushed by oncoming vehicles. The overhead bridge is just 3 mins away”

The Lagos state government had earlier warned residents to desist crossing busy roads by making use of the overhead pedestrian bridges built on expressways across the state.
Information Nigeria understands that some residents, despite several warnings,  still abuse the use of these bridges.
