
The Senate has set up a seven-member ad-hoc committee to investigate the alleged assault incident involving Elisha Abbo, a senator representing Adamawa North.
The Senate came up with the decision to set up the committee, after a point of order was raised by Senator Uba Sani representing Kaduna Central.

Ahmed Lawan, the Senate President, has ordered the committee to get to work and bring back their report in two weeks.
The committee is headed by Sam Egwu, and its members will include Oluremi Tinubu, Matthew Uroghide, and Stella Oduah. Also in the committee are Dauda Haliru, Danladi Sankara and Mohammed Sani.
