A former aviation minister and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode has said that the blood of Leah Sharibu, if she is truly dead, will be on the hands of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Leah Sharibu was one of the girls kidnapped by Boko Haram fighters from her school in Dapchi, Yobe state but was held back in captivity after the insurgents ‘willingly’ released her schoolmates because she refused to denounce her Christian faith.
The former minister was reacting to the account of Grace Taku, an aid worker who was abducted by members of Boko Haram insurgent group — that Sharibu, alongside Alice, have been killed by the insurgents.
According to the aide worker, the abductees were murdered because of the federal government’s inability to secure their release.
In a tweet on Thursday, Fani Kayode wrote: Grace Taku, the aid worker kidnapped by Boko Haram on July 18 has claimed that Leah Sharibu alongside one Alice has been killed by the insurgents because of the FG’s inability to “do something”. This is sad news. If it is true then I blame @MBuhari.Leah’s blood is on his hands.
