Lauretta Onochie, President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide

Nigerians have fired lethal shots at Lauretta Onochie, President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on social media, after saying Seyi Makinde,  Governor of Oyo state was following the footsteps of Buhari when he declared his assets.

Onochie said the governor, who emerged on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) did what the president and his vice, Yemi Osinbajo did when they assumed office in 2015, even though the constitution doesn’t compel that it must be published.

She stated in a tweet on Tuesday: “Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has published his asset declaration document, which shows he has in excess of ₦48 billion in both cash and properties.

“Although it’s not compulsory to publish it, he’s following in the footsteps of @MBuhari and @ProfOsinbajo as they did in 2015.”

 

This comment has sparked indignation among some Nigerian Twitter users.

The angered Nigerians did not hesitate to throw stones at Onochie.
