Eid-el-Kabir: IGP Assures Nigerians Of Adequate Security

The Inspector-General of Police(IGP), Adamu Mohammed has assured Nigerians of a safe and secure atmosphere during and after the Eid-el-Kabir festival.

This was made known by the IGP in a statement on Friday, adding that all Assistant Inspector General of Police and Commissioners of police have been directed to deploy personnel to public places like malls, recreational centres, worship centres among others.

The statement reads: “The IGP, M.A. Adamu, has assured Nigerians of adequate security before, during and after the Eid-el-Kabir festival as measures toward ensuring a peaceful and incident-free Sallah celebration.

“IGP has directed all AIGs and CPs in charge of Zones and State Commands nationwide to deploy adequate operational manpower and equipment to protect all places of public interest, including: shopping malls, motor parks, financial institutions, places of worship and recreation centres to enable holiday makers, worshippers and the general public enjoy optimum safety and security during the season.

“The IGP has particularly directed that all State CP including the FCT should put in place strategic and customized security deployment on major highways straddling their Areas of Responsibilities (AOR) to ensure adequate safety for travellers and other road users.”
