A 9-year-old boy identified as Gift has been rescued.
The boy, who lives in Abia state with his stepmother and father, was rescued after he was tied up with chains for weeks, by his parents.
According to activist Harrison Gwamnishu, the boy’s mother died at birth and since then, had been living with his father and stepmother who subjects him to inhumane treatment.
Reports have it that the boy’s father and the stepmother chained him on Sunday, July 4th and went out for a function.
Neighbours stumbled upon the boy where he was chained and got a welder to help him out of the chains.
