Five times Ballon D’or winner and Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, has been banned from playing international football for 3 months following his comment that the recently concluded Copa America cup was fixed for Brazil.
He was also slammed with a $50,000 (£41,121) y Conmebol, the South American Football Confederation, and given seven days to appeal the judgment.

The talented player made the comment shortly after Argentina won the third-place 2-1 over Chile in a game that saw him sent off following a clash with Gary Medel, who was also dismissed.
His words:
