Atiku, PDP Did Not Deny He’s Not Nigerian: Buhari

In their final submissions before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) said that Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party made no effort to deny anything his country of birth.

Buhari’s lawyer, Wole Olanipekun (SAN), accompanied by Alex Izinyon (SAN) and others made the final submission in the petition by Atiku, PDP on behalf of Buhari, while Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) led the team of lawyers that spoke for the APC on Wednesday.

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has made it known that Igbo leaders will continue to be attacked by his members until they “all pay dearly for their sins”.

This was made known by the proscribed IPOB leader, after the attack of Ike Ekweremadu on Saturday, by members of the group, during the annual cultural festival of the Ndigbo, Igbo apex social-cultural group, in Nuremberg, Germany.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he not compelled any law in Nigeria to produce his certificates to prove his eligibility to contest for election as a president.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in its final submissions in the petition by Atiku Abubakar and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says it was all a mere waste of time.

The electoral commission through its counsel lawyer, Yunus Usman (SAN), therefore prayed the court to dismiss the petition, while adopting his clients’ final addresses before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) on Wednesday.
