Planned Attack On Buhari In Japan Falls Short Of Civility: Shehu Sani Tells Nnamdi Kanu

Former lawmaker, Shehu Sani has condemned the planned attack on President Muhammadu Buhari in Japan by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB).

The leader of the group, Nnamdi Kanu had instructed his members to attack and disgrace the president when he visits Japan, and be handed over to the Japanese authorities for his alleged mass murder crime in 2015.

President Buhari is expected to depart Abuja on Sunday for Japan to participate in the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) holding in the City of Yokohama between August 28-30, 2019.

Speaking on Kanu’s instruction to his people, Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, says peaceful protest against injustice are legitimate but an order to attack and disgrace falls short of civility.

His words, “Peaceful protest against Injustice, creeping autocracy, abuse of power and violations of fundamental rights anywhere challenged is right and legitimate; however, the reported order to attack and disgrace the President in Japan is unreservedly condemned & falls short of civility. ”
