Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has said that the state is against the #RevolutionNow, organised by the publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore, now in the custody of the Department of State Services(DSS).

The mass protests were scheduled to hold in the country on Monday, and organizers have vowed that the protests will hold despite arrest of the convener.

But, in a statement by the Rivers State governor on Sunday, the state does not subscribe to the protests and is not part of it.

He urged parents to ensure that their children are not led astray to participate in the ‘illegal’ march.

He said, “Rivers State does not subscribe to what the RevolutionNow protest represents and Rivers State is not part of the protest”.

“All council chairmen are directed to be at alert. If they suspect any illegal gathering, they should report to the security agencies for immediate action “.
