The residents of Epe have been reported to have staged a protest against the operatives of EFCC gaining access to the house of the former Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Recall, Information Nigeria reported that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, stormed his house in Epe in the early hours of Tuesday however, Residents came out in solidarity protested against EFCC agents and resisted their entry.
According to information hitting social media, it was reported that residents of Epe stood their ground against EFCC gaining access to Ambode’s house and they left shooting to scare angry youths off.
It was reported that the anti-graft agency had frozen three bank accounts containing the total sum of N9.9bn linked to the immediate past Governor of Lagos State.
However, Ambode had stated that he has no personal link to the frozen accounts.
