Akpabio Claims Ex-NDDC MD Joy Nunieh Did Not Complete NYSC

According to Sen Akpabio, Joy Nunieh has no NYSC certificate as well as an exemption letter.

Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs has said the former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Joy Nunieh, did not participate in the mandatory one year service of the National Youth Service Corps.

The minister, who told the House of Representatives Committee investigating financial mismanagement in the NDDC on Monday, also said the ex-managing director had no exemption letter.

We Spent N81.5bn In 8, Not 7 Months As Reported: NDDC

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has denied spending the sum of N81.5 billion in seven months, saying the amount was spent in eight months.

A report by a television station had claimed that the commission spent the named sum within seven months.

However, in its reaction via a series of tweets on its Twitter handle on Sunday, NDDC said the sum was spent by two interim management committees (IMC) between October 29, 2019 and May 31, 2020.

Ondo Election: Akeredolu Emerges APC Governorship Candidate

Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu has emerged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the October 10 governorship election.

Akeredolu was declared the party’s flag bearer, having won the highest number of lawful votes at the party’s primary election held at the International Conference Centre, Akure on Monday.

Chairman of the governorship primary election committee, who is also the Governor of Kogi State, Mr Yahaya Bello announced the results at the end of the exercise which lasted for several hours.

Buhari’s Political Associate, Mallam Isa Funtua Is Dead

Mallam Ismaila Funtua, the founding managing director of Democrat Newspaper and former President of the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN), is dead.

Details of his death are somewhat sketchy, however, many persons have taken to social media to mourn the loss, including the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari, Mr Bashir Ahmad.

Mr Ahmad took to his twitter handle, musing over death, using Funtua’s life as an example.

Most NDDC Contracts Are Given To National Assembly Members: Akpabio

Godswill Akpabio, minister of Niger Delta affairs, on Monday stated that most of the contracts in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) are given to members of the national assembly.

The minister said this when he appeared before the house of representatives committee probing the commission.

Gunmen Kill 21 At Wedding Party In Kaduna

Kukum Daji village in Kaura local government area of Kaduna state was on Sunday thrown into mourning as gunmen stormed a wedding which held in the area leaving no fewer than 21 persons dead.

Also, no fewer than 28 persons were reported to have sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of the attack.The President of the Community, Mr. Yashen Titus told Channels Television that the gunmen, are suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

Acting NDDC MD Faints While Being Probed By House Of Reps Committee (Video)

Professor Kenebradikumo Pondei, the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, fainted during a session of the House of Representatives Committee probing the commission.

According to reports, Pondei passed out while he was being asked why the commission under his leadership made huge payments to companies without appropriation.
