Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has slammed the federal government over plans to ban flights coming in from the United Kingdom over the new strain of COVID-19 found in the country.
Recall that the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Aviation, Senator Smart Adeyemi, on Monday said the National Assembly and the Ministry of Aviation were considering banning flights from the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries with high rates of COVID-19.

Reacting to this development on his Twitter page, Omokri expressed that the move to ban flights from the European nation is a late move.
He wrote:
“It’s idiotic for FG to now say they are considering banning UK flights from next week. It is too late. The new #COVID19 strain is already in Nigeria. We urged them to do it immediately, but they demurred because #Buhari’s relatives were still in the UK.”
