Governor Sule Visits Buhari, Raises Alarm Over Boko Haram Activities In Nasarawa

Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, onFriday visited President Muhummadu Buhari in Abuja, where he raised alarm over the havoc perpetrated by Boko Haram insurgents in the state.

He made the reason for the visit known while speaking to State House Correspondents on Friday after meeting with the President in his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Governor Sule stated that he came to discuss the security challenges in Nasarawa along with other issues with the President.

The governor raised the alarm of the activities of Boko Haram in Nasarwa communities and their attack on the properties and people of the state.

He said Boko Haram terrorists who were dislodged along the Abuja/Nasarawa borders last year, had regrouped along the Nasarawa/Benue borders, and have started attacking the people.

Sule noted that some of the Boko Haram elements active in the Nasarawa State belong to a terror group, Darussalam group.

The governor said secuity agents arrested 900 members of the group and killed many of them in a joint security operation.

He, however, expressed confidence that action will be taken to curtail the insurgency menace having briefed the President.
