Igboho: Yoruba People Always Destroy Their Warriors, Says Gani Adams

The Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, Chief Gani Adams has expressed that Yoruba people always destroy their warriors.

He made this comment when he appeared as a guest on Tuesday’s edition of The Morning Show on Arise TV.

He warned Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho against being used and dumped by politicians.

The Aare Onakakanfo boasted that he has been in the business of fighting for the liberation of the Yoruba race since he was 23 years old.

He also expressed that he has observed the way people can easily turn against heroes when they feel they are no longer relevant despite such persons having genuine concerns to fight for their people.

He said: “The same people who attacked and condemned us in 2015 using social media are now coming to portray themselves as activist to use Sunday Igboho.

“Now, we woke up to hear his (Sunday) house got burnt. Who are the people that went to burn Sunday Igboho house and not in the forest?

“The issue with Sunday Igboho’s braveness now is that he has been used to destroy some political enemies.

“I started this struggle when I was 23 years, OPC was not even formed then, I risked everything for Yorubaland. I didn’t surrender.

“How can somebody now come out – Sunday Igboho –and use his braveness of one day to destroy somebody who has been in the struggle for 28 years. There is a more than meets the eye.

“Yoruba always destroy their warriors at the end of the day. About 78 per cent of those that fought for the people, they destroyed them. We know what happened to Abiola. A lot of the people who asked him to declare himself as a president ran away from him when he was arrested. It was just a few people in NADECO that stood by MKO Abiola.”
