 Govt Will Not Pay Ransom To Secure Release Of Kagara Students, Says Lai Mohammed

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has stated that the Federal Government won’t pay ransom to secure the release of the abducted students and members of staff of Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State.

He made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Saturday.

Mohammed stated that the Federal Government was only out to employ kinetic and non-kinetic measures to secure the release of the kidnapped victims.

He further revealed that the government won’t tolerate any form of criminality in the country.

“All these stories about ransom, are conspiracy theories,” the minister said.

He continued by saying: “I can assure you that the government is on top of the matter – but it is not a subject matter for television discussion.

“We didn’t get there overnight, that is why we can’t get out in one day.”
