Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, has ordered the immediate closure of all boarding schools in the state.
This directive is coming after the abduction of 317 schoolgirls of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe.
He made this known in a state-wide broadcast from Government House Gusau, on Friday.
Governor Matawalle explained that the schools must remain shut down until the security situation has improved in Zamfara.
“As we are making efforts to strengthen security around our schools, I have directed the immediate closure of all boarding secondary schools across the State,” Matawalle said.
He also assured the parents of the abducted students that the government will do everything in its power to secure their freedom.
