No Support From FG On Rescue Of Kagara Students, Gov Bello Laments
Abubakar Bello

Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Bello, has stated that he has received “little or no support” from the federal government towards the rescue of the 42 persons abducted from Government Science College, Kagara.

Recall that bandits abducted the persons, including 27 students, three workers and 12 members of their families in the school located in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

Bello made the remarks during a visit by a former Abia governor, Orji Kalu, in Minna.

Bello pointed out that at the moment, he has little or no support from the government at the centre.

“At the moment, we do not feel any Federal presence here. The Inspector-General of Police sent us four mobile units but we are to shoulder the financial responsibilities. So, where is the support? There is no support from anyone.

“Yes, we had a delegation (Federal Government delegation) that came to visit and commiserate with us but that was all.

“So, we are left to ourselves,” he said.

He, however, reiterated the state government’s commitments to securing the release of the abductees.
