The Federal Government has announced that states who have not met the criteria for vaccine safety, will not be given any of the dose of the vaccine.
Recall that on Tuesday, four million doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccines arrived in the country.
Dr. Faisal Shuaib, the Executive Director of National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), disclosed this at a State House briefing in Abuja on Thursday.
Shuaib said, “We will not be sending vaccines to the states that have not fulfilled all of the criteria that will ensure that if the vaccines get to the states, they are going to be safe.”
Shuaib expressed that it is necessary for security to be strengthened around where the vaccines are stored.
At the briefing, Shuaib also urged Nigerians who wish to receive the vaccines to register on the website of the agency.
