Aruna Quadri Wins Second ITTF Title in Algiers

Aruna Quadri came back from two sets down to defeat his fierce rival 4-3, in a pulsating final match to clinch the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Mens Single title for Africa on Friday in Algiers, Algeria.

Omar Assar quashed Quadri’s bid last year to retain the title he won in Mauritius in 2018 with a sweeping 4-1 victory in Yaounde, Cameroon.

The game almost looked like a repeat of the defeat for the Nigerian after he relinquished the first two sets, 11-8 and 11-9, to the Egyptian.
