FG Orders Vice Chancellors To Reopen Universities For Lectures Immediately

The Federal Government, through the National Universities Commission, has ordered vice-chancellors to re-open schools and allow students to resume lectures.

This was revealed in a letter signed by Sam Onazi, the Director, Finance and Accounts of the NUC, on behalf of Professor Abubakar Rasheed, the commission’s Executive Secretary.

The letter was addressed to all vice-chancellors, Pro-Chancellors and chairmen of governing councils of federal universities.

“Ensure that ASUU members immediately resume/commence lectures. Restore the daily activities and routines of the various University campuses”, the letter partly reads.

This is yet another order for ASUU members who have been on strike for seven months to resume back to class after a ruling by the National Industrial Court ruling ordered them to return to their duty posts last week.
