Ikeja Disco Announces Blackout In Lagos (See Affected Areas)

The management of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) on Sunday announced a ten-day planned power outage in some communities in Alimosho, Lagos State.

Starting on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, the disruption would last through Monday, September 15, 2022.

The Igando injection substation’s outdated panels will be replaced by the company.

The company explained that the purpose of replacing the panels is to “improve the quality and quantity of power” to the local government areas that will be impacted.

The statement from the Disco yesterday reads: ” As part of our efforts at improving the quality and quantity of power supply, we have decided to replace old panels at our Igando Injection Substation.”

“This exercise will last for ten (10) days, from Tuesday, 6th to Monday, 15th September 2022.

Feeders affected are General Hospital, Obadore, Egan, Akesan, Igando-Ikotun, Agric Road and New Igando.”

“We appeal for your understanding during this period. Thank you for allowing us to serve you,” it stated.
