Ladi Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ogun State, has stated that Governor Dapo Abiodun‘s last-minute appointments won’t prevent his loss in the 2023 election.
Abiodun’s “cosmetic appointments,” according to Adebutu, are a sign that the governor is jittery.
The governor recently administered oaths to seven commissioners, reconvened the boards of all state-owned organizations, and authorized the appointment of liaisons to the state’s 20 LGAs.

Adebutu boasted that the PDP would defeat Abiodun just as it did Osun State governor in the July 16 elections.
The governorship hopeful was speaking in Abeokuta at the unification meeting with new defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Labour Party (LP), and Allied Peoples Moment (APM).
He said, “This is a situation that you can describe as crying after spilt milk. The state has seen the truth, he (Abiodun) is just running around and crying, it is too late for him.”
“Where was he (Abiodun) three years ago? He didn’t make these appointments that he is now making; he didn’t do these consultations three years ago. He is now making appointments when the tenure of his government is at the tail end,” Adebutu wondered.
