Troost-Ekong Disappointed With Absence From Algeria Game Due To Injury

Nigerian centre-back, William Troost-Ekong, has made his disappointment known after being forced to pull out of Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly against Algeria due to injury.

Troost-Ekong picked up the injury in the team’s test game against Algeria’s Team B on Friday night.

The centre-back returned to England on Saturday for further treatment of the injury.

“Unfortunately picked up something in our game yesterday. Back home now to sort it out. All the best to the boys on Tuesday,” the Watford defender wrote on his Twitter page.

The 29-year-old absence has further reduced the squad’s depth as only three centre-backs are now available for the game.

Nigeria will play the Desert Foxes of Algeria at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium, Oran, Algeria, on Tuesday.
