Wife Dies In Car Crash While Chasing Husband, Mistress In Cross River

A yet-to-be-identified woman has unfortunately driven herself to death in a motor accident on Sunday evening in Calabar, Cross River State, while chasing her husband and his mistress on the highway in a car.

The lady was said to have died minutes after being rushed to the hospital.

According to the eyewitness report, the lady had seen her husband at a Shopping Mall allegedly with another woman she suspected was dating her husband and decided to pursue them as her husband tried to speed off the scene.

From the reports, just after a few minutes on the highway, she crashed the vehicle on the road while she allegedly tried to overtake her supposed cheating husband.

The eyewitness explained, “The lady saw her husband at a shopping mall with another woman in the car, so she hurriedly drove to double cross them. The husband saw her car and zoomed off, so the woman allegedly became aggressive.

“I was just driving behind them and, in less than three minutes, I saw her involved in the accident. She was unconscious at the point of death.”

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Maikano Hassan, confirmed the incident, saying the incident was caused by excessive speeding.

“Though the woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, she died minutes later due to the injury sustained from the incident,” the sector commander said.
