PDP Accuses Mattawale Of Instigating Political Crisis In Zamfara

The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused Governor Bello Mattawalle of fueling the crisis in the state.

Addressing journalists in Gusau, Alhaji Muktari Lugga, the vice chairman of the party in the state, said Mattawalle was creating unnecessary orders that violated the country’s constitution.

“He has been giving orders that contravened the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is doing so in order to cause confusion and crises in the state for his selfish interest.”

Lugga cited an example with the current suspension of political activities by Matawalle, adding that “nobody has the power to suspend political activities except the Independent National Electoral Commission.

“Even the president of the country cannot suspend political activities just like that unless with the full consent of INEC,” he added.

Lugga noted that the PDP would not respect the suspension order of political exercises from Mattawalle, adding that they would continue looking for supporters until the end of the election next year.

“We will not abide by Matawalle’s suspension order on political activities, and we will continue with our campaigns from now until we claim the state from APC in 2023.”

“The Governor and his party APC should be held responsible for whatever happened because we were attacked by their members during our rally.”
