Falconets Strive to Assume Group Leadership in Canada

The Nigeria U-20 women’s team says they are braced up for Korea Republic test in Saturday’s penultimate Group C encounter of the Fifa World Cup.

The Falconets drew their opening match with Mexico, leaving them level on a point with the rest of the group foes, as England were also deadlocked against PR Korea by same margin.

Coach Peter Dedevbo is however confident his wards will make amends to their poor display of “goal-scoring” prowess against Mexico.

“After the first match, I have been working on the goal-scoring of the player players,” said the ex-U-17 coach. “We had many scoring chances which the players threw away. I don’t want a repeat of that. We must get three points out of this game to claim a lead.

“We had to redesign our strategies for improved performance. The Korea team are good that is why I have to change my tactics.

“I promise a better outing by the team.”

The match is billed for the Moncton Stadium by 9pm Nigerian Time.
