Despite Defeat, Ribadu Pledges To Contribute To National Development

Ribadu-IstifanusThe candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the April 11 governorship election in Adamawa State, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, has pledged his continued contribution to national development,

He made the pledge at a PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Yola, the State capital on Wednesday.

Mr. Ribadu also thanked PDP members for their support toward his gubernatorial ambition.

The former anti-graft czar said he decided to contest the governorship race because he wanted to use his vast experience to develop Adamawa and ensure unity among the diverse cultural and ethnic groups in the state.

“We had Adamawa people in mind when we set out to contest the gubernatorial seat. Our aim was to entrench peace, development and progress.

“Now that we are in the opposition, we shall still strive to achieve that”, he stressed.

Ribadu, who urged his supporters not to despair, added that “with tenacity of purpose, one day the party will return to power”.

He further used the occasion to pray for the success of the incoming All Progressives Congress government in the state, saying “the journey of one million miles starts with one step, so let us continue the journey we started and not despair as nothing can be achieved without perseverance.

“However, we must accept our destiny in good faith and console each other because we had good intention to serve this state”.
