Nigerian man arrested at Malta Airport for trafficking drugs

A Nigerian man was nabbed by the Maltese police and customs after  heroin and cocaine were found on him.

According to reports, the suspect was accosted by officials after he arrived at the Malta International Airport on a flight from Brussels, Belgium after midnight on Wednesday.

When customs officials scanned his luggage, they discovered three packages of cocaine and heroin. The packages were said to have been hidden in a black file at the bottom of the man’s suitcase.

Reports said two of the packages contained a brown powder which narcotics tests confirmed was heroin, while a white powder inside a third package tested positive for cocaine.

Nigerian is in police custody and is expected to be arraigned in court.
