The news media is awash with stories of talented Arsenal midfielder and Camerounian international, Alexander Song’s transfer to Spanish giants, Barcelona for a fee in the region of £15m. The move is coming on the heels of Robin Van Persie’s sale to Manchester United.
Song who joined Arsenal from Bastia in July of 2006 for an undisclosed fee, went on to make 205 appearances for Arsenal spanning six seasons and scoring ten times. Song who is related to Cameroun defender Rigobert Song, is expected to travel to Spain to agree his own personal terms and then undergo a medical.
24-year old Alex Song who was not named in Arsenal’s squad that earlier today played a goalless draw against Sunderland in an English Premier League opener, is expected to reconnect with former team mate and captain, Cesc Fabregas who joined the catalan giants last summer, in the midfield position.
