Kids, don’t over speed. Speed kills. In the space of ten days, Micah Richards becomes the third Manchester City player to receive a six- month driving ban after failing to respond to two speeding notices. Sounds like the saying, ‘Life on the fast lane favours nobody,’ holds water after all.
Richards’ Ferrari was zapped doing 51mph in a 40mph zone in the Manchester area last September. The Manchester City right back- though in absentia- will go on to admit two counts of failing to provide the identity of whoever the driver was. The six penalty points accrued to such offences took Richards over the 12- points limit. There you go again, a ban from driving for six month is what the law says, ask a Mancunian nearby.
Richards’ ban makes him part of a trio of City players who will have to employ the services of a chauffeur, a relative, friend, girlfriend, or wife to drive them to Carrington or the Etihad stadium. The other two been Samir Nasri and Carlos Tevez.
