In March and April, the players of the three- times NPFL champions had embarked on similar indefinite strike to press home demands over the non- payment of their signing- on fees for the 2011/12 football season.

A senior member of the club, on condition of anonymity, said the players have resolved not to train until their wages have been paid.

“The situation is becoming unbearable. The River State sports commissioner Fred Igwe had promised us during our last meeting that we would receive our money on the fifth of this month. Nothing has happened as I speak so we will not train or play any games till we are paid,” the disgruntled player told supersport.com.

Efforts to reach Igwe for his reaction proved abortive.

The players are demanding for 100% of their signing- on fees for the 2011/12 football season.

Dolphins, having played nine matches have gathered 14 points and presently ranks 10th on the NPFL table.
