Nigeria international Obafemi Martins missed Seattle Sounders’ 2-2 draw at Philadelphia Union Saturday, nursing a knee injury.
Martins, who has battled a knee problem since he arrived at the MLS side, was left out of the team alongside Sharlie Joseph who is also injured.
The former Levante star had played down his injury problems, insisting he will soon be back in the thick of things after missing out on some matches.
The Sounders ended the match with nine players, and the host Philadelphia Union with 10 as three red cards were awarded in the final five minutes.
Seattle Sounders will travel to Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday for their next MLS game and it is not certain if Martins would make the team.
