Keshi Drops Six Players from Home-Based Eagles’ Squad for Abidjan.

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has axed six players from the squad for this weekend’s African Championship (CHAN) qualifier return leg in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

Injured Kano Pillars striker Mohammed Gambo leads the pack, followed by Haruna Babalo from El Kanemi Warriors who also has been nursing an injury.

Glo Premier League leading scorer Dele Olorundare will also not make Thursday trip, other are; Jiya Mohammed (Bayelsa United), Ganiyu Ogungbe (Kwara United) and Ezekiel Bassey (Lobi Stars).

Flying Eagles striker Alhaji Gero and Kano Pillars playmaker Rabiu Ali will therefore make the final 18-man squad.

The home-based Eagles defeated The Everlasting Arm Parish (TEAP) FC 2-0 in their final warm-up match before the encounter with the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.

Gero opened scoring for the Eagles in the 48th minute before Ifeanyi Ede got the second ten minutes later.
