The Kogi State Government has appointed a new sole administrator for the state-owned football teams- Kogi United FC and Confluence Queens FC of Lokoja- as Mallam Abdul Adama, a special adviser on Public Private Partnership (PPP) now acts in that capacity.
The new sole administrator Adama was the pioneer founder and chairman of Bukola Babes FC (now ABS FC) in Kwara State.
Special Adviser to Governor Idris Wada on Media and Strategy, Mr. Jacob Edi, said the appointment of Mallam Adama was meant to turn the fortunes of the two football teams around.
“The dissolution became necessary in order to inject into the two teams for better performances and to encourage youths to develop their talents in sport,” Edi said.
Wada directed the state Ministry of Sports to take proper inventory of the two clubs and hand them over to the new sole administrator with immediate effect.
