Fellaini, Likely to Have His Wrist Operated and Miss Out for Long.

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini may have a wrist operation that could rule him out for six weeks- depending on the progress of his back injury.

The Belgium international has not featured for the ‘Red devils’ since hurting his back in the 1-0 loss to his former club Everton early this month and is due to have further scan on the problem.

Depending on the results of the scan, he could use his period on the sideline correct his wrist problem with a long-overdue operation he’s been putting off.

The 26-year-old midfielder injured the wrist during United’s win over Shakhter Donetsk in October.

“Fellaini has an injury to his back, which we hoped might have healed up but it hasn’t,” said United manager David Moyes.

“I am going to get another scan and if it hasn’t healed up then I might need to take the decision to get his wrist done as well.

“We hoped his back would be better in 10 days but he is still feeling it. It’s a muscle that has separated from the bone in his back and that is what is causing the problem.

“We’re not going to say we’re doing that [wrist operation] yet.”
