Super Eagles Resume Training Today, NFF Backs Team to Win CHAN.

The rest of the Super Eagles squad representing Nigeria at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) in South Africa had a day off on Tuesday, while the duo of Benjamin Francis and Ugonna Uzochuckwu were put through special fitness drills.

Heartland defender Francis is recovering from an ankle injury, defensive midfielder Uzochukwu says he is fit for Saturday’s quarter-final tie against the Atlas Lions of Morocco.

The Enugu Rangers player was a second-half substitute for 3SC striker Gbolahan Salami, after missing a spot kick during Sunday’s 3-1 win over hosts, South Africa.

Meanwhile, NFF technical committee chairman Chris Green has backed the team to win the tournament in their debut appearance.

“We have a plan and the plan is to take the team all the way to the final and of course win the trophy, we are not unconscious of the oppositions we have to surmount but this team is good enough for the CHAN title,” Green said.
