Keshi Needs IK Uche, Odemwingie in Brazil- Mutiu Adepoju

Ex-Nigeria international, Mutiu Adepoju, has urged coach Stephen Keshi to consider the experience of Ikechukwu Uche and Peter Odemwingie when naming his squad for this summer World Cup.

The Super Eagles coach recently admitted that naming the squad for the 20th FIFA World Cup in Brazil will be a tough task, judging by the numbers of talent the African champion has at its disposal.

However, Adepoju, who featured alongside the ‘Big Boss’ at the USA 94 showpiece, wants the duo to be included in the squad in order to have a balanced team for Brazil.

Adepoju told Goal.com: “My dear friend Stephen Keshi needs to forgive the boy, Ike Uche and bring him back into the team for the 2014 World Cup preparations.

“Ike Uche has really done well in his club to deserve a call up. Keshi can re-assess him in the other friendly matches the Eagles will play.

“I will be happy if he can extend invitations to Osaze Odemwingie too now that he is also doing well with his club in England.

“I want Keshi to temper justice with mercy in the interest of Nigerian football. We must go to the World Cup with our best legs.”

Uche, who has been on-song for his La Liga club Villareal this season with 12 goals in as many matches, last played for the Eagles in the final of Afcon 2013. Odemwingie has not been called up for national duty since 2012.
