Super Eagles invitees for the 2014 Fifa World Cup, Nnamdi Oduamadi and Uche Nwofor have debunked reports that they are nursing injuries.
The pair have told AfricanFootball.com they are surprised to hear injury reports about them, after been named in Nigeria 30-man provisional squad for the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
“I am not injured, I am as fit as ever,” Varese of Italy forward Oduamadi said. “I don’t know where those people who wrote such heard it from.”
Oduamadi played for over one hour in his club Varese 2-0 loss to Capri over the weekend.
“I played for my team this weekend,” he added. “I am not letting that bother me as I remain focused and working hard to make the final 23 to be in Brazil.
“It has been dream ever to play in the World Cup and I have great chance of doing that. I won’t allow it slip. I know I have to work harder to achieve my dream.”
Oduamadi has scored four goals in 11 games for varese in the Italian Serie B.
