Nigeria midfielder Ogenyi Onazi says he now feels better after injuring his ankle in the World Cup second round match against France.
The Lazio midfielder suffered an ankle ligament tear following a dangerous tackle by Frenchman Blaise Matuidi during the last-16 clash involving both nations.
Onazi told AfricanFootball.com he hopes to be back in training in 12 days.
“I am feeling better now,” he said. “I didn’t fracture any bone as reported. I am in Abuja taking more treatment.
“I thank Nigerians for their support.”
France defeated Nigeria 2-1 to halt the African champions’ progress in Brazil.
The Super Eagles have failed to reach the World Cup last-8 in three attempts.
